Il est 15h30 du soir lorsque les hostilités commencent avec 20 Seconds To Comply. Si le groupe est un peu timide et peut paraître de prime abord un peu scolaire, il n’en manque pas moins d’une énergie communicative.

Les cervicales s’échauffent doucement au rythme des guitares saturées. Si hier l’ambiance était à repousser les murs, aujourd’hui elle est à aplanir le sol avec le rouleau compresseur rochelais Another Bloodshed. Il ne faudra qu’un titre pour que le quatuor transforme les premiers rangs en ring de boxe. Lourdeur et brutalité sont au menu avec les derniers titres du groupe (issus de l’Ep Molotov ).

Insurgent prend le tour suivant, toujours sur un rythme de set en 30/30. Présence scénique, cœurs suraiguës, et des musiciens parcourant autant de kilomètres sur scène que les coureurs du moshpit : l’ambiance est au rdv. Le quintet partage un hardcore mélodique efficace, teinté de metalcore et n’ayant aucune honte d’exprimer haut et fort ses émotions : rage, virulence et envie brute. Les lensois sont venus défendre leur première production ( World’s Misfortune parut l’année dernière chez Useless Pride Records ) et c’est un succès.

Précis et incisifs, les néo-zélandais de Xile viennent piétiner le planche d’Oesia. Aussi brutal que technique, le groupe déverse ses riffs à vitesse grand v sur un public qui n’en fini plus de frapper à tout va . « This is How They Do In Auckland » et c’est ce que Tours réclame ! Le set passe plus vite qu’il n’y paraît et le groupe obtient la plus grosse standing ovation depuis le début du weekend. Si vous leur posez la question de comment s’est passé la soirée, ils vous répondront avec le sourire qu’ils sont heureux d’avoir pu partager avec la France le metalcore Néozélandais !

Assis dans l’herbe à déguster nos ravioles aux épinards, nous nous posons la question : « est-ce le son de nos estomacs? ». Non il s’agit de Heavy Hitter qui débute son concert comme un cri de ralliement à toutes celles et ceux qui ont le culot de prendre une pause repas. Les floridiens remplacent au pied levé les londoniens de TRC et propagent avec virulence un deathcore chaotique. Aucun déception sur les visages uniquement de la sueur et des sourires rageurs. Le groupe est heureux de partager ce soir son tout premier concert en France et c’est un sans faute.

Il pleut des corps sur le set suivant : No Turning Back. Tout droit venu des Pays-Bas, les géants (ou les vieux comme ils se plaisent à le répéter) du punk hardcore sont venus offrir un show « Blood, Sweat, and Croissant« . Avec quelques fans plus jeunes qu’eux dans les premiers rangs, le quintet partage tout ce qu’il a. Martijn cherche chaque contact visuel possible avec la foule, chaque poignée de main, chaque passation de micro. Le groupe aux dix albums est en communion totale avec la foule, qui le lui rend bien.

On pensait la soirée à son apogée mais c’était sans compter sur l’entrée fracassante de Desolated. Le foule se densifie, les degrés montent, la frappe est chirurgicale et les poings tombent aux rythme des accords ne laissant que peu de chance à tout ceux qui se trouvent sur leur chemin. Remontés à bloc, les anglais enchaînent les titres dont certains tout frais sont issus de leur dernier album parut un peu plus tôt cette année. Ici aussi la communion avec le public est de mise, jusqu’à finir dans la foule.

Ils sont habillés en noir, ils jouent dans une demi obscurité, Xibalba c’est une musique sombre et agressive. Avant dernier groupe de la soirée, les californiens piétinent tout sur leur passage avec un registre death hardcore apocalyptique.

Alors que Stick To Your Guns marqué un faux départ avec plus de 15 minutes de retard, la foule loin de s’endormir obtient le 1er dans la catégorie public de l’année en improvisant sa plus belle chorégraphie géante au rythme de Take On Me. L’ambiance reste à la fête lorsque le groupe peut enfin prendre le relais et distiller son énergie et ses meilleurs titres. Avec un fond de scène à fleurs (issu de leur dernier album Keep Planting Flowers), on oublierai presque la violence qui jaillit dans la fosse. De nouveaux titres à succès impérissables, Stick To Your Guns offre un bouquet final comme nul autre ! « Woh ohoh, woh, ohoh, forever us against them all »… La légende raconte que l’hymne résonne encore entre les murs vides d’Oésia. En tout cas, nul doute qu’il resonnera encore de nombreux jours dans nos cœurs et dans nos tympans.

Necks start to warm up gently to the rhythm of distorted guitars. If yesterday’s vibe was about pushing walls, today it’s about flattening the ground with the steamroller from La Rochelle, Another Bloodshed. It only takes one track for the quartet to turn the front rows into a boxing ring. Heaviness and brutality are on the menu with their latest tracks (from the Molotov EP).

Insurgent takes the next slot, still on a 30/30 set rhythm. Stage presence, piercing backing vocals, and musicians covering as much ground on stage as the moshpit crowd: the atmosphere is electric. The five-piece delivers effective melodic hardcore tinged with metalcore, unashamed to express raw and loud emotions: rage, intensity, and raw desire. The band from Lens came to defend their debut release (World’s Misfortune, released last year on Useless Pride Records), and it’s a resounding success.

Precise and sharp, New Zealanders Xile come to crush the Oésia stage. As brutal as they are technical, the band unleashes their riffs at full speed on a crowd that won’t stop throwing down. “This is how they do in Auckland,” and that’s exactly what Tours is craving! The set flies by faster than expected, and the band receives the loudest standing ovation of the weekend so far. If you ask them how the night went, they’ll call it « So much fun » and then they’ll smile and say they’re thrilled to have shared New Zealand metalcore with France!

We thought the evening had peaked, but that was before Desolated made their explosive entrance. The crowd thickens, temperatures rise, their delivery is surgical, and fists drop in sync with their crushing riffs, leaving little room for anyone in their path. Fully fired up, the Brits chain together tracks, including some fresh cuts from their latest album released earlier this year. Here too, the connection with the crowd is real—ending with the band in the middle of the pit.

Stick To Your Gunsstarts with a false alarm, showing up over 15 minutes late, but the crowd doesn’t lose energy—in fact, they earn the award for Best Crowd of the Year by pulling off a spontaneous giant choreography to Take On Me. The party mood continues when the band finally takes over, delivering high energy and some of their best songs. With a flower-covered stage backdrop (from their latest album Keep Planting Flowers), one could almost forget the violence erupting in the pit.
